Would you invest in these property stocks?

Capitaland stock rose by an impressive 3.9% stock today (31 July 2014) to $3.45, the rally in price is within my expectations as reports have been ablaze about the economic potential of Chong Qing, a province of China and how Capitaland has projects there. Even at this price, Capitaland is still below its book value of $3.85.

Good Investment profits

Readers who have been following my blog would have known that I have first of all, restructured my portfolio since the beginning of year 2014, this is followed by a re-examination of my investing and trading techniques. I can tell readers that the first part which is restructuring of portfolio is easy; on this note, I encourage investors not to “put all eggs into one basket” by ensuring good diversification of stocks.

Will this company stock be a multi-bagger?

This stock has seen its price headed south by 36% since the start of year 2014. This stock was oversold as on 25 July 2014. This stock is currently trading below its 200-days moving average and its price is near the low in 2012. Technically, this stock may seen a rebound soon but what is more exciting is that this stock is one with a growth story, one that is made even more exciting with the entry of an investor.

Will this under-rated stock continue its ascent?

Ever since I have written about this stock, this stock has headed north by an impressive 13%! And today, this stock headed by 8.3% from its previous day’s closing price. What is this stock which is not under analysts’ review? Well, before I continue, I would like retail investors know that not all stocks which are covered by analysts need to be true gems of stocks, to be a professional and good retail investor, one needs to do some research to uncover some lesser-known stocks which can prove to be good trading plays or held as long-term investments.

Restructuring my investment portfolio

I am currently in the midst of restructuring my investment portfolio once again, after the one at the beginning of the year. While the first restructuring focuses in buying the right stocks, embracing diversification, the restructuring this time round is on technqiues: knowing when to enter the stocks markets and also when to exit.

Would you continue to support this stock?

This stock has a good sustantial shareholder in Temasek Holdings. However this stock has seen its stock price heading south since its IPO by as much as 70% now. This stock has also been talked about as a buy-over target. This stock is helmed by one of the best brains, as quoted, in America and will continued to be helmed by an eminent business leader. What is this stock? Would you buy this stock now?

Sold this hot stock

This is one stock I like. This is a local stock which has now had an international presence. This is a local company which has taken an ordinary product and make it big internationally. And this company has been increasing its presence in China, riding on the China’s boom. And this company has both modern outlets and revamped and acquired old traditional brands. This stock is about food and the company has diversified into other sectors like real estate plays.

Could this oversold under-book penny stock be the next multi-bagger?

Every investor should have known the story of Osim stock which started out as a penny stock but which is now a branded and valued stock in its own league. Yes, some retail investors like penny stocks investing or trading for investing in these at the right place with the right times could prove to be lucrative. There are still many penny stocks in Singapore stocks markets for all investors. Whether or not these become gems or not depend on the mass stocks market's sentiments. Some of these become multi-baggers while others will continue to be in their status quo. It does not help that investors are feeling the sentiments from the trio penny stocks saga and the S-chips perception. Getting right in penny stocks investments often hinges on buying the right stocks so that investors feel happy.

Two possible M&A stocks: an update

Have you been buying stocks in the first half of year 2014 in order to get possible stocks which may be a buy-over target. There are so many of these stocks that I do not want to repeat the list here. There are two such possible M&A stocks with a cornerstone investor in Temasek Holdings that have some updates. First of all, we have Dyna-Mac stock which is known for its good business fundamentals and dividends. Temasek Holdings has sold some stake in this company. Whether or not this sheds any light on the possible M&A, I do not know. I only know that the founding Lim family still holds a stake of 40% in Dyna-Mac.

Will you buy this refocused stock?

The Singapore stocks markets have not been exciting since the World Cup. But now we know that Germany is crowned the King of football,it is time back to the stocks markets. The series of mergers and acquisitions that characterises the stocks markets for the first half of the year 2014 is expected to continue according to analysts and in the interim of the World Cup, it was reported that Global Yellow Pages, a company which Singapore's Sam Goi is a substantial shareholder did not manage to buy over Gloria Jean's coffee chain. Well, investors here quite follow Sam Goi's investments as could be seen in the rallies of food stocks prices some years ago when he made some buying of these food stocks.

Back with some strong investment and trading strategies

I have taken one week’s of break from blogging on Singapore Stocks Investment (SSI), ya, this blog which you are reading now. In the meantime, I have taken the break to think through my investment and trading strategies which have since improved since the commencement of year 2014. During the week of blogging break, I have been reviewing my trading strategies and though they work okay, they could still be improved and over this week of blogging break, I have formulated some good investment and trading techniques which I would continue to update you readers and continue to test on various types of stocks.

Will you buy this very oversold, below book and multi-national dividends stock ?

The top volume stocks in the Singapore stocks markets have been dominated by penny stocks, small-cap stocks and mid-cap stocks with most of the blue-chips STI stocks staying out of the limelight of the Singapore stocks markets. Retail investors here want to watch the final two matches of the World Cup 2014 before they head back to investing and trading. This is what most analysts say but this is also true to a certain extent.

Invest Fair 2014

Invest Fair 2014 will be held in Suntec City. When I was a rookie investor, I attended these fairs to learn about investing. While I was quite impressed with some of the rates of returns and time frames of these returns to me, I could not help but think that most of these were sales talk. At a forex talk there, there was a trader who promised very good and fast returns. Yes, one could possibly learn from these masters, these gurus but I really think that the joys of investing is best enjoyed first-handedly through learning from mistakes and improving from there. I learn a lot on my own in investing.

Singapore Oversold stocks & Overbought stocks

Oversold stocks are stocks which are sold beyond a certain point by sellers and in investment technicality, we use RSI to track how much oversold a stock is. Oversold stocks are of interest to buyers as there is a likelihood that prices of these oversold stocks will head up again. This may not be a confirm signal by generally the consensus is this: if a stock has good fundamentals and is oversold, then it is a matter of time before stock prices head up. I present some current oversold good stocks based on RSI as follows, for readers’ reference:

Medishield Life

Ever since the details of the Medishield Life were unveiled, I have not been looking closely at the details as knowing just the overview of the seemingly myriad of information is making me overloaded on the information side. As someone who has private Medishield plans, my natural thoughts are whether is it still better to stay insured with the private plans or to just take up the public Medishield Life plans which should be sufficient for the needs of most Singaporeans? Anyway, the perplexing web of information and data does not help me gain clarity on the differences between these two groups of plans.

Six stocks for six-packs investing

Different people have different trading or investment techniques which they base on to enter the stocks markets. Even when two people buy the same stock, the motivation or techniques for their buying are often different and the same applies to their holding period. Investors are generally interested in what stocks to buy and if this question is posed to me, I will advise investors some stocks but whether or not these stocks become profitable is up to the holding period of the investors. The general rule of having time work for investors is generally true especially if investors are young.

14,900% returns achievements

As an investor, a 10% returns on a consistent basis is great. Hence when we see the above 14,900% returns, I think generally readers think it is a get-rich scam; but it is not as there is one folk here in Singapore who reaps this great return of his investment. Well, perhaps, I should call it "investment" instead. So what kind of investment or "investment" will give the folk such a great return? To some readers, this return is not impressive if he compares this return to winning the first prize in TOTO.

Well, we are getting closer. A 14,900% returns means a winning odds of 150. So again as we know, high risk means high returns but high risk does not mean that the goal to achieve this return is not possible. Just ask this folk who won the odds, he will not find the 7-1 goal line of Germany impossible as he punted $100 with Singapore Pools at an odds of 150 with the bet of Any Other Score. Ya, that is how he earns such a great return, but to me it is a gamble in the strictest sense and we should not over-gambled as what the boy whose father placed all savings on the Germany team in the ad advised us. Undervalued Singapore Stocks

I know the Singapore stocks markets are trading without too many clues to investors as investors shrug off the good showing of the US stocks markets. The market catalysts are possible mergers and acquistions and analyst reports like the one by OCBC on Orchard Road stocks. Penny stocks are in vogue and this reminds me of the ongoing probe into the trio penny stocks saga by the authorities. I wonder when the report will be out? I think that a report of the probe that gives investors details of what caused the penny stocks rout will even make penny stock trading more popular. Amidst the current backdrop of the Singapore stocks markets, there are two themes of stocks which investors may favor: blue chips dividends stocks and undervalued stocks.

Stocks Portfolio update: which stock I regret buying?

It has been some time since I shared with readers my stocks portfolio updates. In line with the global stocks environment, my portfolio consisting of stocks bought this year have headed south by an average of 5%. This is expected and it is a good result considering that the stocks bought before I implemented a “strategic review” returned minus 20% in average. These stocks were in the current down-trodden stocks like Golden Agriculture stocks and Biosensors stocks, which were great and coveted but which are now shunned by investors. I am not selling these stocks as I can hold these stocks for a long term and I do believe stock sectors go up and down, among the stocks bought since January 2014, most of them are growth stocks with a good or decent dividends yields, and these are stocks like UE E&C, Dyna-Mac, Breadtalk and Super Group.

World Cup 2014: my Three Lessons in Investments

The World Cup is now entering into the most decisive moments of the tournament with four perennial hot footballing favorites: Germany, Brazil, Argentina and Holland into the semi-finalists. Since the commencement of World Cup 2014, I took a small “vacation” from my investments and explored the techniques to make monies from World Cup 2014 via “investments” in the Singapore Pools outlets.

Hot stocks in Singapore NOW

Investors, once again are interested in Orchard Road stocks, after an analyst in OCBC gave his take on the development prospects of that less bustling part of Orchard Road around Wheelock Place. The analyst in his report attributed the lack of human traffic around that region due to the lack of MRT stations connectivity. With a new MRT station in the pipeline, the analyst pointed out that stocks with interest in that stretch of Orchard Road could benefit and interest from this report has been translated into the good stock price climbs of stocks like Wheelock Properties, Bonvest Holdings and HPL Properties.

Valuable lessons from Donald Trumph

Do you know that there is a book from Donald Trump by the name of "Think Big"? I bought this book at only $5 from the Times book sales at the Expo. This book is really unconventional but is so interesting that I keep reading it to the point that I am about to complete this small, handy and thick book soon. The book packs a lot of important concepts that readers can apply not only for their lives but their investments. I am going to share some very interesting concepts which I have gleaned from the book. For readers who have read self-help books, the principles to success are quite universal; hence I am going to share only the most interesting and sometimes controversial principles from the book. Are you ready? If so sit back relax and enjoy the following read.

A possible multi-bagger next?

As I have shared in my earlier post, Global Yellow Pages is currently oversold, but this is just one side of the story. The other part of the story is equally more exciting. I am sure many of you like to drink coffee. How about owning a chain of coffee cafes as a share owner? When we think of coffee chain, the likes of Starbucks and TCC come to our minds. There is one coffee cafe chain which is also quite popular here and it is none other than Gloria Jeans cafe.

A stock worth investing

Dear readers as you would have known by now, the Singapore stocks are trading without too much of a lead. However this does not mean that there are no stocks that investors can consider. There are some stocks which should be poised for growth as they enter a new chapter of their businesses. First of all, SMRT stock. Besides getting approval for the plan of having the government take charge of the rail assets, SMRT is also branching into retail with the opening of Kallang Wave shopping mall. I have visited the mall and it is quite nice.
