An extraordinary SGX-listed company boss

I read The Sunday Times dated 7 Jun 2015 and noted that the newspapers carry quite a number of articles featuring the personal achievements of refugees. I am not sure whether the episode of refugees like the Rohinya refugees who have come to Southeast Asia might have inspired the write-ups; nevertheless, I am pleased to read that these refugees have found personal achievement and successes in their lives. The write-up includes an interview with Ms Quynh Le-Tan on her financial success (Ms Quynh Le-Tan escaped by boat with her family from Vietnam to Australia in the early 1980s) and then there are the feature stories in Sunday Life! of former Afghan refugee Schoeib Sabri married to trainee solicitor Natasha Latiff and the business success story of Michael Ma, the popular local restaurateur behind the Indo-Chine dining chains (Michael Ma fled Laos with his family in the 1970s).

Reading these articles reminded me of the business success story of Mr Christopher Do, the president and CEO of IEV Holdings who made a perilous journey from Vietnam to Australia in a refugee boat in 1981 (you can read more details of his story here) .
