In Trading mode

In yesterday’s post (you can read the post here), I have blogged about how the intra-day price of Noble Group yesterday at $0.395 was attractive though $0.385 was the intra-day lowest price for Noble Group stock yesterday. Today, Noble Group stock price went up to $0.415. This is my perennial trading stock, Noble Group stock and I am happy once again that this stock has benefitted my portfolio.

What you need to know about this top volume stock?

Not surprisingly, Singapore stocks headed south yet again today (29 Sep 2015). The investment advice goes to the effect that it is when many are avoiding the stocks markets that the opportunities are made. So taking a leaf from this advice, is it time to buy into the stocks markets now? Well, it depends on how much you are yearning for this stock. To be frank, it is not easy for an investor to buy a stock at its bottom-most price; it is second best to buy at one of its lowest price though. Accumulate slowly into your desired stock is one good investment strategy. which sparked worries globally about the sector’s outlook.

Singapore Stocks Markets: my commentary

Today, Singapore’s stocks went south and the STI headed south by 1.44%. This week will be like what the media said, a “data heavy” week with finance-related announcements from China, US and Europe. This is definitely not a time to buy into new equities yet as the Singapore stocks markets will really be shaped by how the financial announcements pan out. However if you have been looking at a certain stock for some time, it is perhaps wise to accumulate slowly into the stock. It is definitely not easy to trade on the back of the current Singapore stocks markets and some market watchers are also wondering whether Singapore stocks, alike their regional and global counterparts are slowly trading down a downtrend.

Singapore Stocks Exchange (SGX) AGM

I read from the newspapers that shareholders “grilled” the management of SGX at SGX’s AGM over certain measures that the bourse has implemented and these included “minimum trading prices” and “minimum trading lot sizes”. As a recap, the minimum trading lot sizes has been reduced from 1000 shares to 100 shares while the minimum trading prices on the SGX mainboard is set at twenty cents per share, where in the past there was not such practice of a minimum trading price.

SMART INVESTMENT & INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY EXPO 2015

I am proud to see my blog Singapore Stocks Investing (SSI) appear on The Straits Times yesterday and today in the advertisement for SMART Investment & International Property Expo as one of the strategic partners for the event. I am proud enough to cut the advertisements and to keep them as the feature of SSI on Singapore’s leading newspapers is really a small achievement to me. I am proud enough to inform my parents and family about it. I am proud enough as this is really a testament of the value that SSI brings; in essence it is recognition of SSI.

Will these stocks be multi-bagger stocks tomorrow (25 Sep 2015)?

Today, Singapore’s haze situation became more focused as the PSI notched above the 310 range. I was walking in the street when the PSI was around 316 and I was choking as I breathed in the polluted air. Near me were a group of young folks, playing soccer in a basketball corner, oblivious to the haze and the possible effects that it would have on them. The PSI today would be the highest PSI to date for Singapore and I still remembered the PSI of Singapore reached 401 in June 2013, the highest PSI for Singapore to-date.

This Singapore stock has headed 20% since 18 Sep 2015, will the rally continue?

After my post of 19 Sep 2015 on Ying Li International stock, expressing my belief that Ying Li International stock should be able to head north and be a multi-bagger (you can read the post here. Ying Li rallied 9.1% on the next trading day (21 Sep 2015) and now Ying Li International stock trades at $0.172, a good 20% above the $0.143 stock price when I wrote the post. I congratulate readers who have invested in the stock and have reaped the profits already.

Behind the world’s Greatest stock

I started reading “Steve Jobs” by Walter Issacson, a thick paperback which I have bought at one of the book sales at Expo for a mere $3. It was a bargain as without the discount, the book would have cost around $20 plus. When I picked up the book, there were many copies of the books around and I was not sure whether it was due to not many people knowing how to appreciate the man behind the widely-lauded Apple products. Anyway, I am happy at picking up the book and partaking the aspiring story in the book. This was really one of the first autobiography which I read. This may demonstrate the fact that I have become older (and no doubt wiser?) as it seems that I pick up books of different genres at different stages of my life.

What should investors do to become better investors?

In my previous posts, I have shared with readers the importance of “cutting losses” in investments which have not gone up to their expectations. I hope that the recent performance of the Singapore stocks markets have convinced some of you that instead of seeing one’s capital “locked up” in investments which keep going below one’s costs, it would have been more beneficial for the investors to “cut their losses” earlier and channel the capital into other worthier investments unless one does not mind buying and holding one’s investment, especially in dividends-yielding stocks.

Can this stock still be the next multi-bagger stock?

There are stocks which I trade and there are stocks which I buy and hold for their potential “multi-bagger” capabilities. If you have been following my blog, you would have known that I am an advocate for Global Yellow Pages stock, a stock which will become a multi-bagger stock in my opinion, provided one can hold the stock.

Will this stock be another multi-bagger stock?

S-chip stocks are not that well-liked by investors here in Singapore unless there is a compelling reason to do so. YangZiJiang stock which will be included in the STI has been heading north (though it has also headed south in between trading) in its stock price because of the “STI inclusion” reason. So is there another S-chip stock which may follow suit?

Will this stock become the next multi-bagger stock next?

LionGold announced its financial results on 17 Sep 2015 and the result was an improved set of results compared to the previous reporting. As investors could recall, LionGold was one of the trio stocks, along with Blumont, Asiasons (now called Attilan) involved in the Oct 2013 penny stocks saga. That episode has erased billions of dollars from the Singapore stocks markets and investigation into the cause of the saga is still ongoing. Prior to restructuring the business into gold mining, LionGold was known as The Think Environmental and back then, I still remembered the company as a credible company in recycling.

Tom K will take note of this (not the Federal Rate decision) for investing on 18 Sep 2015, what is this?

Dear readers, as we know, the Federal Reserves should announce when the next interest rate hike will be by tomorrow morning. Or at least the Federal Reserves will shed some clues to when the interest rate will commence effect. As anticipated, this decision will shape how global stocks perform. I will suggest investors not to invest in stocks pending the Federal Reserves’ decision. And for tomorrow, there will be one factor apart from the Federal Reserves’ decision which investors should take note of? So what is this factor?

Singapore Stocks Markets commentary

There is nothing interesting in the Singapore stocks markets now as all investors are looking at when the Federal Reserves will increase the interest rate. As I have thought, Noble Group stock went south once again on a report which did not give good views of the stock. Other than that, I do not really see a convincing reason for investors to buy stocks now. I think investors should enter into the stocks markets when there is a clearer signal on when the Federal Reserves will increase its interest rate. The stocks markets have been talking about rate hikes for quite a long time and when the rate is to hike, people with high loans will have to take note of the hike.

Should you buy Hyflux and this stock now?

Hyflux stock advanced 7.1% today on news that a Hyflux-Mitsubishi consortium has won the bid to build a waste-to-energy installation. The consortium will also run the waste-to-energy installation when it is completed. While having a waste-to-energy installation in Hyflux portfolio may strengthen the environmental solutions of Hyflux, I must say that waste-to-energy installation may not always be good for the bottomline of Hyflux. Why is that so since with Singapore’s growing population, there is bound to be more refuse?

Are these the Fabulous Four Singapore Stocks?

It is not easy to invest or trade in the current stocks markets these days as the overall stocks market trend weighs on the expectation of a US Federal Reserves’ decision on interest rate hike. As many have believed, it is no longer a question of whether the Federal Reserves will increase the interest rate; it is a question of when they will do so.

SINGAPORE HAZE AND THE SINGAPORE STOCKS MARKETS

It was especially hazy today as I returned home from an office meeting. I noticed how from the MRT train, the skies were so hazy and in my neighbourhood, this evening, the haze in the locality made near-by amenities hazy too. Against this backdrop, I checked the PSI and found that the PSI reading was still 150 though I would humbly think that the PSI should have been over 200 plus.

Will you make use of this “little-known” effect to profit from Singapore Stocks next?

The Singapore Elections has concluded with a resounding win for the PAP. What will this good win for the ruling party means for Singapore stocks? Some investors think that the election victory will translate into good gains for Singapore stocks, especially those government-linked blue-chip stocks. I would think that these stocks may gain upward in price but buying sentiments will be capped by whether the US Federal Reserves will increase the interest rate in the coming week, since the Federal Reserves will meet and the anticipation among many is for the US Federal Reserves to increase the interest rate in the coming meeting. So against this backdrop, I will think investors will invest wisely.

Should investors invest in these stocks now?

There are not many reasons to love penny stocks in the Singapore stocks markets for retail investors unless the retail investor has developed a knack for “very good speculation in these penny stocks. Penny stocks are not liquid, are speculative and comprise S-chip stocks (which some investors still shun even today) and a number of penny stocks are without good fundamentals (chief of all is the profitability aspect). These are the common grouses that investors have in deciding whether to buy a penny stock.

Should investors buy into these three stocks now?

As we all know, the SGX reviews the constituent stocks of the STI benchmark regularly, and in the latest review, three stocks were “removed” from the index and in their places were SATS, YangZiJiang and UOL stock. The addition of these new stocks will definitely be welcomed by investors who were already vested in these stocks as the inclusion into the STI seems to boost the standing of the stocks and there is a belief that the fund managers tracking STI have to buy into these three new stocks, which can only mean more upward movement for these stocks.

Singapore Stocks which may head north on 9 Sep 2015

Singtel Stock has been on the decline in its stock price. Today, a long-legged doji formed at the close of the trading session after three consecutive doji sessions. As technical chartists know, dojis are the state of the market which is not decisive but in today’s doji session, the buying was strong with a clear support at $3.58 to $3.65. Telecoms stocks like Singtel are always good for investors looking for defensive dividend plays in the current markets backdrop though if interest rate is to increase, telecom stocks will become less attractive. So following today’s doji, will Singtel head north tomorrow 9 Sep 2015?

Will this stock finally head north after bottoming out?

Mainboard-listed Global Yellow Pages stock is trading below twenty cents per share at $0.199 even though the company has performed a share consolidation exercise. Investors are probably not impressed at the company’s writedown of “impairment charges related to trademarks” and have sold off the stock.

SUPER VALUE BREAKFAST TO KICKSTART YOUR DAY!

In my previous post, I have shared with readers on a breakfast set with delivers value worth than what one could pay for. And I thought, pictures are more than words, hence I have taken a photo of this value-for-monies breakfast set which I have again tried it. At least, the picture to prove my points, and a picture to activate your hunger pangs early this morning:

What should Singapore stocks investors do next?

The Singapore Stocks Index (STI) ended 3.11% lower yesterday (4 Sep 2015) for the week. The bearish mood in the Singapore stocks markets is confirmed when the three US major stocks indices headed south by more than one percentage points each overnight (4 Sep 2015, midnight, Singapore time). The above will be the backdrop for Singapore investors as long as there is no clear signal from the Federal Reserves to increase its interest rate and if the Chinese economy is still not steady.

What you need to understand about this stock today?

I am not sure whether you are keenly following the Singapore Elections 2015, for me, yes, I am following very closely on what all parties are saying everyday. All Singaporeans will exercise their rights as citizens to vote for the betterment of Singapore, but again this will be a topic more for ourselves internally.

What should investors do now for Singapore stocks investing?

In my previous posts, I have shared with readers that the performance of Singapore stocks for the latter half of the previous week will translate into more selling and Singapore stocks once again headed south today. From my analysis of the Singapore stocks markets, bargain hunting into selected Singapore stocks must be done at the right time for the Singapore stocks markets are still following the lead of US, Europe and China stocks markets. I mean, if you want to get a feeling of how Singapore stocks will fare, just look at how the major three US stocks indices perform prior to Singapore’s trading day.
