Ezra stock advanced yet another 4.9% today after my sharing of this stock on 27 Feb 2016. Ezra stock closed at $0.064 and reached a high of $0.067 on an intra-day high. I sold off Ezra stock at $0.062 at its opening price, never mind that it was not the higher closing price or the highest intra-day price. As I also shared with readers, “Hindsight is cheap” when it comes to investing. If I did not sell at $0.062 today, there might still be a chance for Ezra to trade lower. While Ezra stock might still trend higher, I decided to take profits for now for a double-digit percentage returns and then re-assess whether to enter this stock once again. I am happy for my successful double digit percentage profit win in Ezra for this stock is not a stock which I profit due to luck, this stock was selected out from the few hundreds of Singapore stocks on the Singapore Stocks Exchange by me as I could sense that its price could rally up and I am happy that my trading strategy for Ezra has brought me profits.

While I am focused on Singapore Stocks, I am also into US stocks. I believe retail investors here should not just focus on the stocks in Singapore but also learn about US stocks. Some of these US stocks could be many times multi-baggers and repeat what stocks like Amazon stock could do to one’s portfolio should one buy into such mult-bagger stocks before they multiply their prices up and up.

Last time, we know that due to the US Federal Reserves due to schedule the increase of the interest rate, Reits are not the most recommended investment tools to invest in. But with the global stocks economy still in a pendulum, is it a good time to buy into Reits now and enjoy the high dividends?

While I am familiar with Sheng Siong stock, I am not really familiar with Mr Lim Hock Chee, the CEO of Sheng Siong group except to see him at the Sheng Siong show, screened seasonally on local TV, cheering the participants> I also know that he is one of Singapore’s fifty richest with a net worth of US $635 million or about SGD $889 million according to Forbes . So when there was a Channel 8 show interviewing Mr Lim, I relished the chance to know more about the CEO.
I summarized some of the highlights from the show:
I summarized some of the highlights from the show:
On 23 Feb 2016, I asked readers whether Ezra has bottomed out and is poised for a rebound (you can read the post here . I concluded the post by saying the best thing an investor should do when investing in a new stock position is to ask himself how confident he is in the stock. On Singapore Stocks Investing blog, there is a reason why I specifically discuss about certain stocks and the reason behind my sharing of Ezra is that the answer is yes, Ezra is poised for a rebound. On 26 Feb 2016, Ezra stock rallied ahead by an impressive 17.3% and yes, I am having profits right down on Ezra stock as I have bought it at lower prices before the rally.
Welcome to Singapore, Madonna! Though I would not be attending Madonna’s concert tomorrow at the Singapore National Stadium, I have been enjoying Madonna’s songs over the years. Listening to the medley of Madonna’s songs over Kiss92 FM “Madonna’s fan weekends while I am at my computer now is really a nostalgic experience. I was a teenager student listening to your songs in secondary school and now I am an uncle with thinning hair already. How time flies but I still enjoy all of Madonna’s songs. Madonna is really the “queen of pop”!

I have shared with readers how I have been accumulating DBS stocks while they are trading at a low $13 each. It was reported yesterday that CEO of DBS have bought 200,000 DBS shares at $13.88 per piece and together with other Senior Management, they have bought over 500,000 DBS shares amounting to more than $7 million. I am heartened that the CEO and Senior Management bought over their company’s shares as from what investing literature always tells us, there are many reasons for people selling their own company’s shares but there is only one reason for why people buy their own company’s share and the reason is none other than having the confidence in the future growth of the company.

The three local banks have released their financial earnings results. In terms of areas like non-performing loans ratio, UOB fared not as well as DBS and OCBC; this hence caused sellers into UOB stock, pushing UOB price stock to a low. How low is UOB stock now? Well, on 4 January 2016, the first trading day of year 2016, the price of UOB stock was $19.09 per share. Compared to the closing price of $17.01 price as of 24 Feb 2016, we had UOB share price now corrected south by around 11%. UOB share price as of 24 Feb 2016 is currently at the support level of $17.01 and once this support is “broken”, we could see UOB share price head south.

Singapore stocks declined once again today, following US stocks’ showing the night before. The decline came about as Saudi Arabia announced that it would not cut oil production. Against this backdrop, regional stocks markets like Singapore stocks markets went south. After what seem to be okay market sentiments, it seems that Singapore stocks markets will be going through a rocky path once again.

A quick glance at the top volume Singapore stocks reveals that Ezra is the second, third top volume stock for today. At this time of writing, Ezra stock traded around 1.9% higher than yesterday’s closing price. Ezra has been in the top volume stocks from my observation for 19 February 2016, 22 February 2016 and today (23 February 2016), suggesting that investors or speculators may be interested in the stock. The interest is not surprising considering that oil prices have been heading north.

Tan Teng Boo is known as the Warren Buffet of Malaysia. Interested to know what Singapore stock he wants to buy? Read the article here.

While many investors choose to stay by the sideline, believing that the Singapore stocks markets are poised to head south, in line with the regional stocks markets as well as the local and regional economies, there is another group of investors who have been profiting from the Singapore stocks markets. No, I do not mean those traders who are skillful enough in trading stocks including penny stocks. What I mean are those investors who realize that investing is all about buying value at a discounted price. By this, Warren Buffet’s nugget of wisdom: “Price is what you pay, Value is what you get” is something that they can identify.

Today, the Singapore Stocks STI went slightly down by 0.03%. Though the STI today was flat, it belies the fact that for some blue chip stocks; they went down by one to three percentage points. A glance at the top 20 volume stocks shows that there were fewer investors into penny stocks and a look at the technical charts showed me that quite a number of stocks are currently consolidating at their current higher prices chalked up earlier. It is not easy to invest into new positions as I think there are no stimuli to move up stocks, except for good earnings news locally. If a company’s financial results are good, that will boost its share price.

The Singapore stocks markets have turned quite bullish, chalking up another 1.67% gain on this trading day. DBS stock rallied another 2.1% to reach $13.89 per share. As shared with readers, I have been accumulating DBS stocks while they were still trading at low $13 per share. So far, UOB and OCBC have reported credible financial performance and it will be DBS’ turn to report its financial results next. On 18 Jan 2016, DBS stock had a gap down of 2.8%, and if the technical teachings are to be believed, the “gap” will need to be filled and DBS stock will reach $14.62 per share.

Singapore stocks retreated 1.16% today. Like what I have shared with all of you readers, it is not conclusive that Singapore stocks markets will rally with the yuan appreciation and oil outputs capitalization. Hence, I would advise investors to go into investing into the equities you really would like to own via tranches.
Tuesday, February 16, 2016
Singapore stocks once again rallied today, with the benchmark STI heading up by 1.68%. Yesterday, we read that the Chinese Yuan is to keep the yuan stable and the stocks markets worldwide rallied on the news. Today, Saudi Arabia and Russia agreed to freeze oil outputs near record levels, hence with today’s announcement, oil prices may head north slowly but surely.
Monday, February 15, 2016
Singapore stocks performed well today with the benchmark STI climbing 2.68% up. Many blue-chip stocks rallied including DBS stock, a stock which has had some analysts flocking in to give it a “Buy” rating amidst some other analysts’ giving not so rosy outlook on the Singapore’s bank sectors. And as shared with readers, I have had accumulated DBS stock while it was trading at low prices against the possibility that global stocks markets, including Singapore’s may still head south.
Sunday, February 14, 2016
In one of my earlier posts, I have shared how I have been accumulating one Singapore’s blue-chip stock against the current stock markets volatilities. Some people may ask whether it is foolhardy to do this, since many analysts are saying that stocks markets are poised more for the south. Well, it is when many investors are not investing in the stocks markets, that it may be the best time to pick up some bargain buys. I am also open to the view that stocks markets may still head south, hence I have a plan in my accumulation of stocks that I buy currently and the plan is none other than to buy in tranches, in the spirit of dollar cost averaging.

When we came out from the Central MTR tunnel (literally and I must add figuratively too), we used the restroom in a glitzy shopping mall near Central Exchange before hitting the streets once more. Though on the map, another tram stop 27E seems easy to locate, it was not practically. So when an old English-speaking lady came up to us and offered help, we gladly took up the offer though we were directed to the next tram stop instead: 29E.
These are the two forecasts which I have come across and which investors might just want to know.

Dr Michael Leong, the founder of ShareInvestor.com has passed away on the morning of 12 Feb 2016, according to a post on NextInsight Facebook page . I was surprised to read of the news. Though I have much earlier on learnt of ShareInvestor.com portal, it was only when I read “Your First Million Making it in stocks” by Dr Michael Leong that I came to learn of the founder of ShareInvestor.com. The book contains valuable nuggets of investing information which all investors should read.
The current global stocks markets are not doing well and many think that the markets will head even south. The concerns of investors this time round seem to be on China.

In January 2016, in a bid to have higher returns on my savings, I placed a portion of my savings into a fixed deposits plan with a bank which offered a good interest rate of 1.85% for a twelve-months placement term. That was during the time when banks were dangling goodies to attract savers to place their monies with them. Banks were competing with one another and my placement of my savings has entitled me to a good gift from the bank too.
After Chinatown, the Singapore Zoo is the next most visited place for Singaporeans in this current Chinese New Year festive season. The reason? The showcase of monkeys in the year of the Fire Monkey 2016. This is really noticeable from the large groups of visitors gathered around the monkey exhibits in the zoo at all hours of the opening hours. However, it is of particular interest to see that this group of visitors comprise many men, mostly middle-aged gathered around the monkey exhibits, watching intently at the features and movements of the monkeys. Most of the men are seen scribbling down some notes or pointers in pieces of paper or small notebooks. This sight leaves onlookers curious and also piqued the interest of a reporter who was at the zoo.

Today, the Singapore STI went south by 1.57% and what I noted from the top 20 volume stocks are that the list contains a number of blue-chip, large-cap stocks. Stocks like Global Logistics Trust, Noble Group, Singtel, Genting Singapore, CapitMall Trust, HPH Trust, Golden Agri-Resources, Capitaland, Ascendas Reit, CapitaCommercial, YangZiJiang. Earlier on the trading day, DBS stock has also joined in the tray to the top 20 volume as it reached a low of $13.20 before closing the trading day at $13.38. This diversification of the top 20 volume stocks only informs me that there are “market matters” in many arenas that give investors more reasons to sell than to buy.
Over the Chinese New Year weekends, I have been reading many articles on investing in the year of the Fire Monkey 2016. And I have personally written a few similar articles on Singapore Stocks Investing (this) blog. While many have touched on how investors should learn to be nimble like monkeys in the year of the monkey when it comes to investing in the current dynamic stocks markets, there is not much consensus of whether there is such a “Monkey stock” for the Singapore stocks exchange. I have been thinking hard on this question.

Today is the first day of Chinese New Year! Happy Chinese New Year to All of you readers! I believe some of you may be more interested in my topic “What are the Singapore stocks to invest for Fire Monkey Year 2016?” than my greeting, so without further ado, let us get started in the Year of the Fire Monkey!
Sunday, February 7, 2016
Dear readers, how have you been? We will soon be ushering in the year of the Fire Monkey. A brand new year heralds new hopes and new opportunities and I believe it is every investor’s wish to excel in their investments in the coming New Year. I thought how apt (or should I say “ape”) the horoscope of the Chinese New Year is to describe the desired traits of investors in the year ahead.
Saturday, February 6, 2016
It is Chinese New Year, how many Singapore stocks you can think of which are related to Chinese New Year? Well, the below is my list:
As I was going through some stock charts, one stock chart caught the attention of me as I noted a large stock candlestick in the charts. This stock closed at $0.137 on 1 Feb 2016 and opened at $20 on the following day hence the stock price went up by about 14,600% at the opening on 2 Feb 2016. The stock finally closed at $0.127, went down by 7.3%. So why the rally in opening price of the stock to such a high price? I do not know, but I believe it must have been an erroneous keying in of the trade. The name of this stock is Dyna-Mac stock.

Some investors think that Warren Buffet’s investing methods are not that up to date in the current stocks markets conditions. “Buy and hold” strategy is not as great a strategy now and that is why many turn to learn trading from trading gurus: these are what many have also concluded. This is especially, after even once blue-chip companies like Keppel stock has been heading south amidst the current stocks markets rout.
Thursday, February 4, 2016
The Singapore stocks markets have been heading south. No one seems to know when the “bottom” is or will Singapore stocks markets keep trending lower. And whether one should still invest in these current stock markets environment as no one may also know when stocks markets will pick up north once again.
Wednesday, February 3, 2016
Dear readers, tomorrow is 4 Feb 2016 and the title of this post is on what you may want to do tomorrow for a Wealthy harvest. I believe many people will think that I am encouraging people to buy TOTO for tomorrow since the prize for the TOTO tomorrow has become more attractive. Well, what I am suggesting has to do with Chinese New Year since Chinese New Year is just next week.
Tuesday, February 2, 2016
I have been busy spring cleaning these days. I asked my colleagues around and realized that I am really one of the few who actually does spring cleaning at home these days, together with my wife. Most of my colleagues do not see the need to do spring cleaning even though it is a custom for Chinese New Year. Most of them have also a helper who could do the chores for them and for those without a maid, they could hire those helpers on a hourly basis to help them with the spring cleaning.

There are just two criteria I have entered into the Google Finance stock screener. First, look for Singapore stocks with a market cap of $1.05 B to $55.16B. Second, set the 52-week price change to minus 30% and less. There we have the following 18 Singapore stocks meeting the above two criteria.
Eleven of the eighteen stocks are now trading minus 30% to minus 40% off their 52-week prices and they are:
