Dear readers, I am always a student of life; a voracious reader who like to read up on a variety of genres and I am a firm believer in that daily life moments, small as they may be, will teach us so much more about life itself. (as an example, don’t miss this post how spring cleaning made me a better investor). That is why even as technology advances at an astonishing speed, there is a subject called biomimicry: the design of systems to imitate nature with the belief or understanding that sometime nature provides the best solutions to problems faced by man. For example, yesterday, I watched news about how the next generation of drones will evolve into. These will evolve from flying like helicopters to flying like bats! Yes, the drones will be equipped with wings, which will vibrate via sensors and mimic the flying of bats. This bat-like flying style of drones will definitely capture more images from different angles, offer more diverse views in breadth and depth and would be especially useful in humanitarian assistance.

I seldom watch TV shows, left alone local tv productions and hence I am glad that I have managed to catch most of the just concluded “The Hush” on Channel 5. Please don’t get me wrong. I watched the show not to see the former FHM Malaysian queen Sarah Lian, or former Malaysian beauty queen or up and coming local starlet Foo Fan Rong. I mean I am an old man already. I watched because of the intriguing plot right down to the last episode.
It is weekends and I thought we will have something light today. What about if I tell you something fun to do for the weekends? And in the spirit of this blog, something that optimises value from your time and money? The best part of all is that the activity which I am going to propose to you is something which is fun and best of all, FREE!

Singapore has concluded the 2015 SEA Games with a stunning closing ceremony last night. I read that some ticket-holders to the ceremony were not allowed into the stadium as the stadium was already full. According to the same report, a volunteer was cited as saying that these ticket-holders have arrived at the stadium later than the stipulated commencement time of the ceremony. In my humble opinion, I believe that these ticket holders might have come to the ceremony only to watch the fireworks finale; hence they have arrived much later into the ceremony.

Some time ago, I heard a passer-by utter a mandarin financial phrase which I have not really heard for quite some time. The phrase is none other than the simple phrase of money in mandarin. Nope, the phrase is not “qian” but it is “jin qian” (perhaps that is why at this stage, you would recognize with me that this phrase is seldom heard of now). So what’s the big deal of this phrase?

Today is Valentine Day, I wish all couples a Happy Valentine Day. Being an investment blogger and investor myself, I could not help but to think of the Singapore stocks which would be beneficiaries of Valentine Day, though definitely, there should be no “Valentine Day” effect on Singapore stocks in my humble opinion. So, readers, read what I am going to share with you on a light-hearted approach.

Many people characterise the Singapore stocks markets as either the bulls or the bears depending on how the Singapore stocks perform. I beg to differ. I think it is not fair to give credit to just these two animals when it comes to describe the Singapore stocks markets. True, these two animals: the bulls and the bears have been used since long time ago to characterise the global stocks markets. But in Singapore stocks markets, there are many other animals there too … “in” our stocks.

Many people in Singapore are suffering from hair loss. I am also suffering from hair loss but I have no real gripes about hair loss as I am already old and I have seen many people younger than me having hair which is thinner or these people are balding. I think being Healthy, Peaceful and Happy are the most important in life. I know this is an unconventional post but since most of us (I think) are experiencing some form of hair loss to some degree and most of us want to be rich and wealthy, I have integrated these two topics into a post which I hope is useful to you.
