DBS, OCBC and UOB: WHICH IS THE BETTER STOCK?

DBS stock, UOB stock, OCBC stock
Dear readers, in this post, let us compare the financial numbers behind the three leading banking stocks in Singapore: DBS, OCBC and UOB, to see which among them may be the better or best stock.
First, DBS stock. DBS is currently trading at a P/B ratio of 1.31, with a 2.65% dividend yield and a P/E ratio of 14.99. At $23.76 per share, this stock has a target price of $24.692, hence the potential upside is 3.92%.

Second, OCBC stock. OCBC is currently trading at a P/B ratio of 1.289, with a 3.06% dividend yield and a P/E ratio of 12.797. At $11.76 per share, this stock has a target price of $12.294, hence the potential upside is 4.54%.

Last but not least UOB stock. UOB is currently trading at a P/B ratio of 1.192, with a 2.78% dividend yield and a P/E ratio of 13.177. At $25.21 per share, this stock has a target price of $26.147, hence the potential upside is 3.72%.

Before this post was made, I still have the thinking that DBS’ stock price is around $18 to $19 per share and hence I was surprised to note that DBS stock price has gone all the way to $23.76. I have not been keeping tabs on the banking stocks here. I would have thought DBS would be my favorite stock based on fundamentals but now with the insights gleaned from the update in the comparison of the three stocks; I am more inclined to go for OCBC stock after considering its lowest P/E ratio, highest dividend yield and highest potential upside among the three stocks here. Please note my preference should not be taken as a recommendation. There are also more factors which are not covered in this post which would also facilitate a comparison.
